 Total Investment for the AMAZONAS projectThe investments for putting the AMAZONAS communications satellite into orbit and for exploiting it have reached 325 million Euros (more than a billion reals). This amount includes the satellite’s construction, its launch, the insurance policies and the investments in the land segment and for service startup. The AMAZONAS satellite is the Hispasat Group’s fifth satellite. It was manufactured by EADS-Astrium, a European company, based on its Eurostar 3000 platform. The International Launch Services (ILS) company is responsible for carrying out the launch on board a Proton/Breeze M launching vehicle from the Baikonour Base in Khazakhstan.
