The Proton M Breeze M launching vehicle commercialized by ILS (International Launch Services) is responsible for putting the AMAZONAS satellite into orbit from the installations at the Baikonour Base in Kazakhstan. The objective of the launch is to place the satellite in the 61º west orbital position over the Amazon, at an altitude of 36,000 kilometers, from where it will provide its communications services. For such, the launching rocket should attain sufficient speed and power to allow it to break free from the Earth’s gravitational force.

The Proton M Breeze M is currently one of the launchers with the largest load capacity, which makes it the ideal vehicle to send very heavy, mid-sized satellites into orbit with a maximum guarantee of success. The considerable load capacity of the Proton launching vehicle, together with the Breeze M upper stage multiple ignition capacity, provides the satellite operators utmost load flexibility and capacity for putting their unit into orbit. This creates the possibility of designing special missions and also allows for maximizing embarked fuel availability to prolong the satellite’s life.
