Total Coverage over the Americas

AMAZONAS was designed with a perfect fit of coverage and power for the specific satellite communication needs of the American continent. Its technical configuration allows it to render services in optimal conditions in the different markets of the American continent, especially Brazil. Furthermore, AMAZONAS has transatlantic capacity, which allows it to extend its coverage to Europe and North Africa, and to complement the coverage provided by the current fleet of satellites, including the west coast of the United States.

Amazonas is also the first satellite with coverage that illuminates the entire American continent, using frequencies in the C Band as well as Ku Band.

This fact makes it a very attractive satellite for those potential operators and companies that demand and need to have satellite communication services over the entire continent at both frequency bands.

It is important to point out that the vast majority of satellites currently in operation in the Americas in the Ku Band do not provide complete coverage over the entire American territory. These satellites only provide partial coverage or steerable beams, which cover either the east or the west of the continent or the west of the continent, but not both areas.
